Mevlana Jelalludin Rumi

there are dozens of pages on the web dedicated to Rumi; it's fascinating how timely his poems seem even centuries after his death. but then, that's what great poetry is about. transcending time, culture, language...

his significance is not limited to his poetry. he is considered probably the most influential teacher in the Sufi tradition, and was the founder of the Mevlani order, famous for their whirling dervishes. his influence is proving to be boundless.

By day I praised you
and never knew it.
By night I stayed with you
and never knew it.
I always thought that
I was me--but no,
I was you
and never knew it.

POEMS
(some of these are in quatrain form, and some in ode form)

Love rests on no foundation
To heal the burning...
I Saw Goodness Getting Drunk
One Strand At A Time
Those who don't feel this...
Come to the orchard...

more to come...
